Lesley's Baked Camembert
This camembert could not be easier and literally takes under 5 minutes, just be sure to set the cheese on the lowest rack in your oven and watch it carefully so that it doesn't burn - it can go from perfect to overdone in a second.
1 small wheel camembert
3-4 Tbsp. brown sugar
zest of one orange
With a small, sharp kitchen knife, remove the top rind from the wheel of cheese. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and cover top with zest from the orange and the sugar.
Place on the lowest rack in the oven under a hot broiler and bake until sugar caramelizes. Watch CAREFULLY as it can go from perfect to burnt quickly. Serve with the our Cranberry Hazelnut Crisps for the perfect accompaniment.
Note: some tasty additions include toasted hazelnuts, dried cranberries, fresh rosemary or chile flakes.
